random story of the day: On Saturday night, we drove up to Sac for my Grandma's Sister's 90th birthday. There were about 200 people present. I walked over with Dave to say hello to my oldest uncle. i went to give him a hug and then all of a sudden i hear the clanging of chopsticks. Huh??? What is going on. next thing you know, what seemed like the whole restaurant was clanging away at their plates and cups. They wanted us to kiss. Dave started sweating bullets and turning red and exclaimed, "this isn't a wedding!" I felt bad because it's not our event! I tried to hide under the table, but they would not stop. So finally we gave each other a quick peck, and the crowd erupted in cheers.. Dave was SO RED and sweaty, and I was pretty red. Sigh, our family...
the end.

We had the pleasure of taking the kids to eat happy meals at mcdonalds so apparently, thats all they talk about everytime they pass by Mcdonalds.
From Helen: "As I drove the kids to VBS this morning, of course, we pass by McDonalds...and I prepared myself mentally for the long discussion again
about happy meals, the cricket, their hamburger, nuggets, special juice, etc....they've done that for the past 3 days...
But TODAY, Joy points and says "Mom, that's McDonalds..." and I prepared
myself mentally, but she was taken back by a dude who walked out and she shouted "Mommy, why that man have big tummy"......It was this construction worker...and man, I about peed in my pants...but it brought a good closure
to their McDonald fascination....as I said "That is what happens if you eat happy meals every day and too much Mc Donalds gives you a big tummy.... and that is why it is special and you have it with your friends for special
times and that's all." And they nodded quietly in understanding."
